is a PhD candidate in the department of History of Consciousness at the University of California, Santa Cruz. He holds a BA in Black Studies from Amherst College. His current work examines questions of logistics, capital, and power through approaches from international political economy, maritime economic history, critical finance studies, and Marxist cultural theory. His dissertation research focuses on the place of maritime shipping in the political economy of the postwar capitalist regime.
